Hazleton Paranormal Society
Jennie Wade House
The Jennie Wade house, originally the McClellan home, lived through the Battle of Gettysburg
and witnessed the tragic death of Gettysburg civilian, Jennie Wade, as she was preparing
bread for the Union soldiers. This brick house was not a good spot to be in during the fighting
as it was between the two armies. As both armies fired on each other, the home was struck
repeatedly and riddled with bullets. The north side received most of the damage as it faced the
Confederate position and today is marked with over 150 bullet holes. The home has had
numerous counts of paranormal activity. Our first pieces of evidence are in the form of EVPs.
The first EVP is  almost as if a spirit was having a conversation with itself. The recorder was in
the basement and the investigators were in the next room. There was no one in the room when
this was recorded. You may hear our voices in the background from the other room, but the
EVP is more dominant. At :05 you will hear what sounds to be "Look", then at :13 it seems to
say, "There they are". At :16 (this one is hard to comprehend) it sounds like it says, "Let me cut
the tree". If it sounds like something else to you, please let us know. Finally at :45 you will hear
a voice say, " Can't/Don't turn back".

The second EVP isn't really class A, but you can definitely hear something. It sounds like a
man whispering, but it is far too low to comprehend anything that it is saying. You will hear
something at the 3 second mark, 10 second mark and 18-20 second mark.

In this EVP, at the 5 second mark, you will hear a loud sigh (or what it seems to be anyway)
and then an investigator cough at 6 seconds. The sigh was not from our investigators.

In the final EVP, at the 3 second mark you can distinctly hear the same man whisper the word
"Look".

The next piece of evidence we retrieved is a bit of video footage. This evidence will be
scrutinized heavily, and rightfully so. This was taken at a time when the entire group was on our
"snack break". There was no one in the house at this point. The camera was placed in the
basement, on top of one of our cardboard boxes and taped down to the box. We were taking
break an estimated 5-7 feet from the entranceway to the basement. What happens on the
video is that "someone" or "something" seemed to try to move our camera. The wires
connected to the camera were very secure and in no way were able to move. We were also 5-7
feet from where the wire was entering the basement so we would have noticed if anyone had
tripped or got snagged on the wire. It is just something that we could not logically explain.
