| The Search for The Bagunk |
The Bagunk is the legend of a spirit that is seen in the St. Michael's and St. Andrew's cemeteries as you
head out f the town of Glen Lyon. How the name originated , there is no definitive answer. The number of
people that have talked about this legend including first hand accounts has made the Bagunk a well
known legend including newspaper accounts over the years. The stories center around two cemeteries
on opposite sides of the road. A ghostly image in the shape of a human that legend holds is someone
rising from their grave and moves over and through the tombstones. The Bagunk has also evolved over
the years to also be of a bigfoot type creature that roams the area in which some people have said they
had encountered.
When investigating, three members saw a light that would move near some tombstones. We have no
idea where the light may have come from and investigated it thoroughly to rule out any natural
explanations. We did not find any creatures or any signs of one. The light in the cemetery was the only
experience the group had during the night. This may require more investigating if we hope to reach the
answers to this legend.
