Hello, I just wanted to share this amazing story of the Ye Olde Haunted Vine Street
Cemetery with you! It is a fascinating and true story, reported ghost sightings have
been going on here for over 100 years!! I believe this is a story that should definately
be shared with my Pennsylvania community.
Here is the Story:
State: Pennsylvania
County: Luzerne
Name of Location: Ye Olde Haunted Vine Street Cemetery
Description of Haunting:
It is said to be that many ghostly apparitions can be seen clearly inside the Ye Olde
Haunted Vine Street Cemetery, usually between the hours of 3:00 pm to midnight.
There are many reported sightings of many ghostly apparitions and orbs, but there
are a special three that have been repeatedly seen and reported by passerbyes:
Ghost #1 : A large obese caucasian woman with dark features, who appears to have
one leg larger than the other.
Ghost #2 : A lanky, sad and distressed looking man, looking as if he was a former
grave digger, dirty, and holding a shovel in his hand.
Ghost#3 : A very morbidly obese teenage boy, said to have a scruffy appearance, and
hair the color of red burning fire! Said to be seen in 1950's style plaid shorts.
There are many other ghosts reported, such as a woman dressed in white, who is
reported to come out especially in winter. A young Hazletonian boy once reported
passing out in the cemetery, and being helped up by this ghostly and mysterious
white woman!

Many years ago while biking with two cousins a very strange thing happened. We
happened to be on an old back road when we seemed to be lost. We had always
traveled this road but somehow that day it was different.
Because we were so very lost ,it was a welcome site to see a woman on the path
about 20 feet ahead of us. Seeing her we quickly parked our bikes and ran towards
her. She slowly turned around and to our surprise she had no face. She was dressed
all in white[a flowing material that caught the breeze].
You would think that seeing a site like that would have scared us but a weird feeling
came over us and we kept calling out to her. She never answered us but instead
motioned us to follow her. Like in a dream state we did follow her until something
finally stopped us. When we stopped we realized that if we would have walked just
two or three more steps we would have fallen down a steep striping hole. To our
surprise we watched as this "white lady"floated completely over the entire stripping
hole.
As soon as the entire event was over ,like magic,we knew where we were. We quickly
got back on our bikes and rode home. We made record time by the way!
We never talked about what had happened to us but it seems that that event was
always just in the back of all our minds.I personally told the story many times to my
children.
As adults my cousins and I fell out of touch but recently at a family event we were all
together again. I asked them if they remembered what happened to us so many
years before. Both of them recalled that day exactly as I did.
Can you please tell me If this could have been a paranormal experience? Is it odd
that Three of us could have had that happen to us at the same time?
Our mothers would not allow us to ever bring the story up. They seemed afraid for us
and they acted angry,but when we told our grandmother she was very open-minded
and believed us.
I swear that the entire story is true and I'll go to my grave believing that.
In my lifetime I have had a few experiences but the one I just related to you now was
the most disturbing.
